The Role

Taptap Send is seeking a results-oriented individual to join our operations team and help us grow our business across the US, Canada and Europe. In this role, you will report to the Payment Operations Manager and work across all aspects of Taptap Send’s payment operations working directly with our teams and partners across the world. You’ll own key operational tasks, including tracking and troubleshooting service performance and managing FX across multiple currencies. You’ll form part of the glue between all the functions of the company and work to maintain a high standard of performance 24/7!

You will deliver on cross-functional priorities, requiring great relationship and project management skills. You will engage closely with the wider operations team in London and Brussels, as well as our engineering team in New York, to ensure that Taptap Send is effectively supported in its growth and customer ambitions! 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring performance levels on our payment corridors and managing outages to improve customer experience

  • Escalating issues with our predominantly African based partners to ensure high levels of service

  • Managing daily funding operations to ensure the correct accounts are funded each day so payments can be processed seamlessly

  • Working closely with partners to ensure that funding timelines are being delivered on

  • Troubleshooting to find the root cause of payment issues and working with internal and external partners to resolve

  • Providing cover for up to 50% of weekends, with time off in lieu

You have:

  • At least 1-2 years experience ideally in a payments or operations role in a start-up

  • You enjoy challenges, love working in teams and building relationships with key stakeholders 

  • You don’t hesitate to place a call to promptly resolve issues or leave your comfort zone to lead a negotiation 

  • You enjoy working within the fast-paced environment of a rapidly growing startup where priorities shift quickly and no two days are the same

  • Terrific organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Solid analytical skills (Excel); SQL considered a plus

  • Familiarity with the partner countries we predominantly work with considered a plus

  • Proficiency in English and French

  • Right to work US, UK or Belgium (depending on location preference)
