Our product is an app-based solution that lets immigrants send money back home to emerging markets instantly and at very low prices. Since launching in summer 2018, we’ve already moved tens of millions of dollars and reached tens of thousands of customers. We’re live in seven European countries, and we support payments into Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Cameroon, with lots more countries launching soon.

Global remittances account for over $500 billion annually, most of which moves back into developing countries. But the market is dominated by traditional services that are expensive, can take days to arrive, and have limited reach in rural areas. We're helping people to send that money instantly and securely at a fraction of the cost.

The role

Fresh off a fundraise, we’re looking for our first People hire to build Taptap Send’s People function and scale Taptap Send more broadly. This includes responsibility for designing, executing, and scaling our people strategy (in collaboration with the CEO), including attracting and retaining the best talent, building our culture and employee engagement, managing our performance review process, and supporting employees’ career development. 

We are looking for someone who is excited to work in our fast-paced, solution-oriented culture, and who has experience building effective processes and structures in a growing organization.  You are someone who loves working with people and is passionate about helping others grow and succeed while retaining a fun and dynamic culture. We also expect you have “seen a lot” and while you might not have had the top People job previously, you have a good sense of the range of issues at a fast-growing company and how to manage them.  You’re also a fantastic communicator who is passionate about Taptap Send’s mission.



  • Talent acquisition / retention - you’ll design and project-manage the end-to-end recruitment process to help us recruit the best people to help us deliver on our mission. This will involve working with various teams to define their recruitment plans, sourcing and attracting talent for various roles, and managing the pipeline of talent as they progress through our recruitment process.  You’ll also play an important role in talent retention --- from keeping employees engaged to helping ensure development trajectories. 
  • People policies - you will work on building out and executing against our people policies, including compensation, performance reviews, titles, etc.  As part of this, we’d also hope to implement a learning and development program to ensure that the team is excited and supported when taking on new challenges -- whether that be a management role for the first time or moving to a different team function.
  • Company culture - you will lead on ensuring that we are building and retaining a strong culture as we scale our team rapidly, through regular team events and activities and celebration of amazing team achievements!



  • 4+ years’ experience in a talent acquisition / people / HR role at a high-growth tech start-up, or similar top-tier firm, preferably with an international footprint
  • Can bring a mature / experienced perspective to delicate HR issues
  • Ability to work independently and juggle competing priorities, including across teams and countries, and with external partners
  • Fantastic communication skills and passion for Taptap Send’s mission
  • Fluency in English; French a plus
  • Right-to-work in the UK (or possibly US)
